ARE YOUR CRYSTALS ETHICALLY SOURCED?
For Echoz Crystals to claim that all of our crystals are ethically sourced, it would be wrong and frankly, unethical. Unfortunately, we are not able to confidently make that claim as we have not yet traveled globally to each and every crystal mine we source from. There are many crystal companies out there who do claim their crystals are ethically sourced, but how can they really know for sure if they’ve never been there themselves and they haven’t worked a day in the mine. Often times we will find that suppliers in foreign countries will lie to retailers like us just to make a sale, and it’s up to us to find trusted sources that we can rely on and support.
What we can say about the crystals we do source is that the founder intuitively chooses whom she purchases from and will not engage with in business with people who are dishonest. She is very diligent with her research and has built relationships with many dealers around the world that she would deem trustworthy. Some of the people who help us source our crystals are:
- Small family operations who work together in the mine, i.e our suppliers from Pakistan, India, Mexico, and Australia
- Local rockhounds in the United States
- A young entrepreneur who began working in the crystal mines of Brazil and worked his way up to becoming a supplier of Brazilian minerals and crystals
- Mineralogists and mineral enthusiasts
WHAT ARE THE HEALING PROPERTIES OF CRYSTALS?
At Echoz Crystals, we have chosen not to speak much on behalf of the metaphysical healing properties of crystals. We do not feel that we are experts on the subject, and we prefer not to speak on something that is not our expertise. Our expertise lies in hand selecting natural crystals from around the world for your enjoyment. Although we do believe in the healing energy of crystals, the founder believes much of the information circulating the internet is simply just marketing and many times is used to target people who are extremely vulnerable, for their personal profit. We highly recommend our customers try to learn information about the healing properties of crystals directly from crystal healers, not crystal shops. ARE ALL YOUR CRYSTALS NATURAL?
All of our crystals are natural (ie, not heat treated, not cut and polished, not dyed) unless otherwise stated.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE THE VALUE OF A CRYSTAL?
Each crystal is carefully inspected and noted for it’s aesthetics:
1. Shelf Appeal
2. Clarity (if applicable)
3. Condition (is it damaged? If so, where?)
4. Mine Locality
5. Rarity (Was it a one time find? Is the mine still producing?)
6. Growth habits
7. Hue and Range of Colors
8. Source it was purchased from (hand collected vs help of heavy machinery)
