Red Fox Agate is a rare and unique type of volcanic geode discovered in the elevated plateaus of Patagonia, Argentina. It’s defining feature is the presence of red (sometimes black), botryoidal hematite.  Additionally, the agate often showcases dendritic patterns of blue/gray toned chalcedony that is typically (not always) UV reactive. The formation of these beautiful agate geodes occurs when gas bubbles trapped in cooling lava fill with silica-rich water, which then deposits layers of chalcedony and quartz inside the bubbles.

Energetics based on my own experience

This stone holds the frequency of fire, transformation, and deep ancestral healing. In meditation, it guided me through molten lava—an intense yet gentle current of death and rebirth. I felt old identities, generational trauma, and societal conditioning dissolve into the flame. At the core, I was met by my ancestors, their presence filled with unwavering support and protection. Carried through the ashes and into light, I rose—stronger, freer, and more myself. With its grounding botryoidal hematite and volcanic origin, Red Fox Agate helps transmute fear into power, and pain into self-love. A stone for walking through fire and emerging whole.
